According to autismspeaks.org, 44% of children diagnosed with autism have above-average IQ test scores. Although 40% of children on the spectrum are nonverbal, they are all blessed with unique abilities that set them apart from the world in which they live.
As a designer, I wanted to create visual aids for children on the autistic spectrum to help them feel that they are part of the world they live in just as the autistic puzzle piece symbol represents.
